In addition to holding a benefit concert for the troops earlier this year, Montgomery Gentry is also headlining a United Way event in Illinois on July 18.
The United Way of Kankakee County fundraiser will be held at the Hidden Cove Sportsplex in Bourbonnais. Not only will fans have a chance to see their favorite band, but they can also know that their donations are going to a good cause.

While Montgomery Gentry have taken home their fair share of awards throughout the decades – this year’s honor at the Academy of Country Music Awards might just be the most meaningful.
The duo will take home the “Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award,” for all of their efforts with community service and charitable giving.
Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry hold a number of philanthropies close to their hearts, particularly those supporting U.S. Military charities, as well as those benefitting disabled children.
In addition to giving their time, the band puts their money where their mouth is – they work to raise funds and raise awareness to a number of organizations, including St. Jude’s Research Hospital, USO Tours to the Persian Gulf, Hospice of the Bluegrass and Multiple Myeloma Foundation, David Dickens Melanoma Research Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Patient Advocate Foundation.
The honor was created to recognize Country stars who go out of their way to serve others with their generous spirit. While Montgomery Gentry tickets have always been a hot commodity and they sell millions of albums, it seems their hearts are really what make them great!

Montgomery Gentry has signed on to the Country Throwdown Tour.
What is the Throwdown tour, you ask? Well, you’ve certainly heard of the Vans Warped Tour, the 15-year-old festival that features dozens of acts at a time like the All American Rejects, My Chemical Romance and Reel Big Fish. Now, the producer of the Warped Tour has created something similar for country musicians and fans.
In addition to Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson and Little Big Town, as well as eight other country bands will be playing in the Throwdown Tour.
The tour runs through 23 cities in the months of May and June.
